Maybe it's just that card and that machine are not compatible (I've ordered a 2GB CF to try). I've used the same CF card in newer Pentium II builds no problem. Has anyone seen that before or have any ideas? always hangs on boot (after POST) unless there's no partitions. I've tired setting it up manually with diskpart in Windows 10, formatting as FAT16 in another machine, different partition sizes. Ran FDISK, created the primary partition (max size 2048 MB), it's active. Used a 8GB CF I had laying around (cleaned up with diskpart), POST fine, identified the drive in bios and I could boot up with my DOS 6.22 staup disk. I've done that on a few newer generation Win 9X machines no problem. Had it all set up working fine with a traditional HDD and wanted to replace that with an IDE to CF adaptor. So over last 18 months or so I've been slowing putting together my "ultimate DOS/Win 3.11 machine" from different finds and scavenges (based around a 1995 Pentium 100). If you know more old software resources not listed, please share!
