In 2020, he conducted the national tour of the full-length opera The Road to Poverty Alleviation: Huang Wenxiu, which was jointly produced by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In 2019, he conducted the dance drama Confucius also produced by the Theatre at the NCPA in the same year, he received the warm greetings of the Party and State leaders as an assistant conductor at the Gala for the 70 th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. In the same year, he conducted the premiere of the Theatre’s original opera Beacon Fire on the Green Mountain to amazing success. In 2018, he conducted the opera Liu Sanjie produced by the China National Opera and Dance Drama Theatre at the Poly Theatre in Beijing. In May 2016, he performed with the China Youth Symphony Orchestra in several European cities. In the same year, he joined the Kunming Symphony Orchestra in its nationwide tour to commemorate the 100 th anniversary of NIE Er’s birth. In 2012, he was invited by the Shaanxi Philharmonic Orchestra to conduct the symphonic suite Chang’an at the Beijing Concert Hall. The production was a tremendous success and was well received by insiders. In July 2011, he was invited to conduct a revival of the opera The White-Haired Girl, which was produced by the NCPA and revived by WANG Kun to celebrate the 90 th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
He has collaborated with the China National Symphony Orchestra, the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra of South Korea, the China National Opera House, the China National Opera and Dance Drama Theatre, the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, the China NCPA Orchestra and Chorus, and many other major orchestras nationwide.
He has made his remarkable presence felt in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, South Korea and numerous other countries. He is the permanent conductor of the China National Opera and Dance Drama Theatre Symphony Orchestra and the Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra. He studied under renowned conductor and educator LI Xincao. Dream of Dunhuang has become the top works among the original Chinese dance dramas and classic works among national dance dramas, as well as a successful example of Chinese dance drama with "multiple performances and multiple outputs".JIN Gang stands out as one of the most sought-after young conductors in the Chinese music scene. Its unprecedented spectacular performance is second to none among the original Chinese dance drama works. Moreover, the drama toured many European countries in Europe and the US in the past several years.
Since its debut, the drama has won several awards such as the "Five Ones" Project Award conferred by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the "Lotus Award" in China National Dance Competition and the "Wenhua Grand Prize" in China. Lanzhou Opera House perfectly presents the profound culture of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes to millions of spectators in the form of Chinese folk dance, known as "movable Dunhuang". Over the past 19 years, the drama Dream of Dunhuang has been successfully performed more than 1,300 times around the world. The debut also marked the perfect start of an incredibly successful artistic creation. The mammoth dance drama Dream of Dunhuang composed by Lanzhou Opera House premiered at the Chinese Theater in Beijing on April 24, 2000, to a great success.
